All three articles addressed the fact that a college degree doesn't have the same value it possessed in the past. Some students attend college just because they feel like it's expected of them and the next step in their education process. I feel that you need to actually want to learn and better your education if you chose to attend post secondary school. If you don't know what you want to do in life, spending all this money on classes you don't care about taking may just be a waste. A student should attend college because they know what they want to work towards or have a plan to figure it out. The student also needs to put in extra work if they want to have a successful career after graduation. A job is not a guarantee at the end of college graduation, so the student needs to make sure they know how to get one they want. Most jobs require a college degree or higher, but that alone isn't always enough for a person to get the job or career they want. Some people will get jobs straight out of high school that they are happy with and can lie off of and don't even need to attend college. Deciding which educational path to take shows the intelligence of a person. If they are content with their current job, it is a smart decision to avoid student loans and such by not attending college. On the other hand, if a person knows what they want as a career and they know they need a degree to get the job, it is an educated decision for them to work towards that degree.
